We are the pioneers and leaders in shearography and holography NDT. Our systems are used to ensure quality and engineering compliance for military aircraft, missiles, launch vehicles, large liquid propellant rocket engines as well as manned and unmanned spacecraft.

We are a small but highly skilled team of twenty-five specialists in NDT, physics, optics, mechanical and software engineering, manufacturing, and program management.

Founded by our current President and CTO, John Newman
1980
Developed first high-speed automatic holography camera
1982
Delivered the first ultrasonic holography system for turbine aircraft engines, 42 systems to 8 countries to support military and commercial engine manufacturing.
1986
Developed the worlds first electronic shearography camera
1987
Integrated the first shearography system for USAF B-2 manufacturing
1988
Introduced the first electronic shearography tire testers.
1990
Developed and delivered 40 portable shearography systems for aircraft and marine composites
1994
Shearography inspection of the Severn Class Lifeboats in the UK for the RNLI
1995
LTI and industry users establish the ASNT Laser Methods Committee
1997
LTI installs large automated shearography system for Raytheon Premier 1 aircraft production
1998
First shearography systems delivered to NASA in support of the Space Shuttle Program
1998
LTI and industry users establish the ASTM Shearography NDT Sub-Committee
1999
Introduced the first Optical Leak Test system for microelectronics packaging, delivering 350 systems by 2020.

LTI Shearography integrated into the Delta IV Launch Vehicle program

Shearography testing of NASA X-33 engine for qualification tests at Stennis
